Skistar donates deposit money to health care

Skistar donated their deposit money to health care

The ski season of 2019/2020 was different in a lot of ways but once again it resulted in a record-breaking amount of collected deposit packaging. In total, 1 526 706 cans and bottles were collected, an increase of 11 percent from last season.

For years, Pantamera has been collaborating with Skistar who owns and operates ski resorts in Sälen, Åre and Vemdalen, among others. They chose to donate the compensation for their collected deposit from their resorts to the healthcare in form of purchases of protective visors and protective aprons.

The result was 6000 reusable protective visors made in Sweden from 100% recycable materials and close to 20 000 protective aprons for healthcare in the regions of Dalarna and Jämtland/Härjedalen.

For many years, Pantamera/Returpack has been collaborating with many of the country's ski resorts to make it easy for visitors to deposit and take environmental responsibility even during the holidays. The deposit handling at the ski resorts is also about taking responsibility for the compensation from the deposit going to some form of charity, from supporting mountain rescue stations and local sport facilities to rescuing the Swedish mountain fox.
